Terms of service
Last updated
These terms describe the platform as it is actually built and operated. Where a term is not yet settled — the governing jurisdiction, the liability position — it is marked open rather than filled with something that merely sounds right.
What these terms are
These terms govern your use of the BOCY website and the Mesh platform at www.bocy.io, operated by [to be confirmed — legal entity name and registered address]. By requesting access, signing in, or using the platform, you agree to them.
Mesh is provided to professional and institutional investors. It is not offered to retail consumers, and nothing on this site is directed at them. If you are using Mesh on behalf of a firm, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that firm.
How we handle personal data is set out separately in our privacy policy.
Mesh is research tooling, not investment advice
This is the most important clause in this document, and it reflects how the product is deliberately designed.
Mesh takes an investment thesis, maps the ecosystem it depends on, attaches evidence from primary records to those dependencies, and re-tests them as new records arrive. It does not tell you what to buy or sell, and it does not give investment advice. Nothing it produces — a map, a basket, a signal, a constraint, a written note, or a score — is a recommendation, a solicitation, an offer, or a personal recommendation of any kind. It is not a substitute for your own analysis, your own diligence, or professional advice.
We are not your investment adviser, broker or fiduciary, and using Mesh creates no such relationship. Every investment decision you make remains yours. If you place capital on the basis of something you saw here, you do so on your own judgement and at your own risk.
Where Mesh presents an exposure or a directional read, it shows the reasoning and the source document behind it precisely so that you can check it and disagree with it. Treat any output you cannot trace to a source as unverified.
Access is invite-only and at our discretion
Mesh is not open to sign-up. Requesting access does not create an account and does not entitle you to one. Access is granted manually by adding your address to an approved list, and it can be removed the same way, at any time and at our discretion. If your address is not on that list, signing in will not let you in even if authentication succeeds.
We may decline a request without giving a reason, and we may withdraw access — for example, if these terms are breached, if a credential is shared beyond the firm it was issued to, or if the platform is being used in a way that harms it or another user.
Your account and shared credentials
You are responsible for what happens under your access. Keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly at hello@bocy.io if you believe they have been compromised.
Some firms are issued a shared partner credential rather than an individual account. That credential is licensed to the firm it was issued to, for the people at that firm. It may not be passed to anyone outside it. Because it is shared, the activity recorded under it is attributed to the firm, not to an individual.
What you may and may not do
You may use Mesh for research and investment analysis inside your firm, including in internal notes, investment committee material and client discussions, provided any claim you carry across keeps its source attached.
You may not:
- Scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract the graph, the underlying data, or any part of the platform, by any automated means.
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense or republish the platform’s data or output as a product or a data feed, or use it to build a competing dataset or service.
- Share your access with anyone outside the firm it was issued to, or attempt to reach data your access does not cover.
- Attempt to breach, probe or circumvent the platform’s security or rate limits, or interfere with its operation for others.
- Remove or obscure the sourcing and attribution attached to any output you carry out.
If you find a security flaw, we would much rather you told us than exploited it. Email hello@bocy.io and we will work with you.
What you type in
You keep ownership of the theses, questions and notes you enter. You grant us the licence we need to run the platform for you: to store that text, to process it — including by sending it to our language-model provider — and to return results to you.
We use your text to operate and improve the service. Where the specific handling matters — which provider receives it, what we log, how long it is kept — the answers are in the privacy policy, section 5, and they are stated exactly rather than generally.
Do not enter material non-public information, personal data about other people, or anything you are contractually barred from disclosing.
Where the evidence comes from, and its limits
Mesh is built on public primary records — regulatory filings, patents, permits, published trade and macroeconomic series, government contract records — together with licensed market data. Those sources belong to their publishers and are subject to their own terms. Some are licensed to us for use inside the platform and may not be redistributed by you.
Two honest limits on what that evidence can tell you:
- Coverage is incomplete and uneven. A source may be delayed, revised, withdrawn, or simply absent for a company. An empty field means we have no record, not that nothing happened. We would rather leave it empty than fill it.
- Interpretation can be wrong. Parts of the platform use language models to read documents and propose relationships. They make mistakes. That is why output carries its source: the document is the evidence, and the interpretation is ours to be checked.
The platform is provided as it is. We do not warrant that its data is complete, accurate, current or fit for any particular purpose, and past patterns in any evidence shown are not a guide to future outcomes.
Fees
We do not charge anything through this site today. There is no payment mechanism in the platform, no billing, no subscription and no stored card. Access during the private beta is granted at our discretion and is free of charge.
If that changes, it will be under a separate written agreement with pricing you have actually seen and accepted. No clause here creates a payment obligation, and none will be introduced by quietly editing this page.
Availability — this is a private beta
Mesh is a private beta under active development. Features appear, change and are removed. We do not offer a service level, an uptime commitment or a support response time, and you should not build a process that depends on the platform being available at a given moment.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. Where a change materially affects how you use it, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you first.
Ownership
The platform — the software, the dependency graph, the ontology, the way evidence is mapped to it, and the interface — belongs to us. Your access is a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it under these terms. Nothing here transfers ownership of it to you.
The underlying public records are not ours and we claim no ownership of them. What is ours is the structure we build over them.
Liability
You use Mesh to inform your own decisions, and you are responsible for those decisions. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for investment losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform or from anything in it being incomplete, wrong or unavailable.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
[to be confirmed — the financial cap on our aggregate liability, and the jurisdiction it is set under] — this has not been settled, and we are not going to assert a number we have not agreed.
Ending your access
You may stop using Mesh at any time and ask us to close your access by emailing hello@bocy.io. We may end or suspend your access at our discretion, as set out in section 3.
When access ends, the licence in section 10 ends with it. Sections 2, 7, 10, 11 and 13 survive. What happens to data you created is covered in the privacy policy, section 9 — including how to have it deleted, which is a manual process today.
Governing law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by [to be confirmed — governing law and the courts with jurisdiction]. Until that is settled, this clause is open, and we are not going to name a jurisdiction we have not established.
We may update these terms as the platform changes. The date at the top moves when we do, and we will not backdate it. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you rather than rely on you noticing.
